Congratulations on wanting to quit smoking. Here are some questions, I often receive in regard to my Be a Healthy NonSmoker program.

Question:  How do I know if hypnosis is right for me?

Answer:  There are two things that are necessary for you to accept the suggestions and Become a NonSmoker.  The first is that you have to want to make the change.  I can't make you do anything you don't want to do.  Doing hypnosis will not work if you are only here because someone else wants you to quit.  It doesn't mean you don't like to smoke.  I assume you are getting something out of smoking.  But you must be open to accept the suggestions.  The second thing that is necessary is that you must have trust in the hypnotherapist.  If you are sitting there thinking "I don't like her", you are unlikely to accept the suggestions.  To help you make sure that hypnosis is right for you, I offer a FREE CONSULTATION.  It usually takes about one-half hour.  This will give you a chance to ask any questions you have.  If you don't know what to ask, I will talk just a few minutes about hypnosis and how it works to give you a chance to be with me.  At the end of the consultation, you can decide if you want to go ahead with the therapy or not.

Question:  How many sessions will it take for me to Be a Healthy NonSmoker?

Answer:  I ask a commitment to two sessions.  The first session takes about 90 minutes and can be done right after the free consultation to save you a trip. There is no hypnosis in this clinical interview.  I will be asking you a lot of questions about your smoking habit - when do you smoke, how much do you smoke, what are your triggers, etc.  Your answers will be come the basis of your hypnosis session.  At the end of the first session, I will give you some questionnaires.  They are not complex and you can't make a mistake on them.  They just tell me more about you -  such as how you process stress, are you left or right brain dominant, are you visual, auditory or kinesthetic.  You bring them back to the second session which lasts between 75 and 90 minutes.  We will go over the questionnaires together and then do a 45 minute hypnosis session.  At the end of the session, you will be a nonsmoker.  I am so confident of this that I GUARANTEE that if you need any more help for an entire year it is free. (I can guarantee that because it happens so rarely!)

Question: Can a family member be in the room during the hypnosis?

Answer:  Of course, though many people prefer more privacy.

Question:  Can I record the session?

Answer:  You are welcome to record the session.  For many years, I tape-recorded the session.  Today, most people no longer have tape-recorders.  But many people do have a smart phone.  Both the Iphones and the Androids have an app either already downloaded or you can download from the app store so you can record your hypnosis session.

Question:  What is the charge for the Be a Healthy NonSmoker program.

Answer:  There are some issues that work well in just one session.  I simply don't need an hour and a half clinical interview to find out about biting fingernails.  So some issues can be done in one two-hour session.  The free consultation takes a half hour, the clinical interview takes 20 or 30 minutes and the hypnosis takes 45 minutes.  For that two hour block of time, I charge $150.00.  Because I am asking smokers to come for two sessions, I drop the rate to $125.00 for each session.  For $250.00 total, you get the two sessions, the testing, the opportunity to record the session to reinforce the work at a later time and the guarantee.  I take cash or check.  I do not accept credit cards.

Question:  What is your schedule to set up appointments?

Answer:  I accept appointments Monday through Friday.  I do 10:00, 1:00 and 3:00 appointments.  Some people want to come in one day and do the free consultation and schedule the other two appointments on separate days in the following weeks.  Other people want to get it done quickly and find it easier to take one day off work as a personal day, come in at 10:00 do the free consultation. If they decide to go ahead, they could do the clinical interview from 10:30 till noon, go have lunch at the mall next door, fill out their questionnaires, have two or three last cigarettes and come back after lunch at 1:00 or 1:30 and do their hypnosis session.  I would not suggest trying to do both sessions in one afternoon.
